Prone Hip to Toes

Heath Reed July 8, 2024

Using Archer stance you can stay with your technique, but maintain your alignment.  Remember to transition your stance when you reach popliteus.  *Other possibilities for working the posterior leg include soft fist over soft fist (waterwheel) or using one soft fist to begin to reorganize the fascia and the other following behind performing cross fiber.

Repositioning your client’s body (as in Supine or Prone tree position) gives more comprehensive access to different muscle groups, stimulates the nervous by giving proprioceptors new positional information, and can passively enhance mobility and flexibility while providing pressure. With repeated practice, you will feel more comfortable and confident mobilizing your client.

Have fun combining advanced tools with stretching and ROM. If you enjoy massaging and stretching at the same time, you’ll love our Yoga Massage video and Power of Movement and Massage Home Study course.
